The notion that millennials aren’t getting decent jobs because they’re not trying hard enough is one of the most obnoxious boomer beliefs.
Although, to be generationally fair, a lot of people will hit you with that belief. It’s a variant on the just world fallacy — if they’ve never had to struggle to find a job, they assume that this is entirely due to their own skill and fortitude, and not skill mixed with good fortune.
